ill have a tub. i dont know what size i get until this weekend, im going to target to look. do you know what demensions i should be looking for? Or how many quarts?

so i have the tub, i put a 10-20 gal heating pad under one side of the tub. connect it to a thermostat.(im not ssure what kind of thermostat, if u hav any recomenddations let me know) im thinking of a helix but there WAY to expensive for me. but if push comes to shove ill get it. ) so after the tub and heat pad and thermostat i put some aspen in the bottom, one hide on the warm side and one on the cool side. a water bowl near the middle, and im going to get 2 thermometers and a humidity gauge for the inside. is that good?

and this might sound like a stupid question but what does a thermostat exactly do again? i set a temp ,and it tells how how the heat pad is, or how hot the inside of the tank is? im kinda confused.
