how do i shrink my jeans?

24th February 2010

Just bought an expensive pair of jeans that are a little bit too big (I normally wouldn’t buy jeans that didn’t fit but it was the only size and at an incredible price). I want to shrink them and I keep reading to sit in a hot tub but does this work on any jeans or just levi’s? I’ve also read to boil them. Has anyone tried this and does it really work or will it ruin them? Thanks!

The mother-in law returned the bikinis and swimsuits and they were back when I got home last night, but my wife will never be able to wear them again. This is because they started out being UK size 12, but they now look like size 20-22 as they are very stretched and the elastic bits wherever it is on the bikinis and swimsuits is perished and has no stretch to it, it is simply like there is not any there at all the legs, waistbands are just like big gaping holes now and any where else where the swimwear had any elastic bits it is the same no stretch left in it.

These were the suits

Mother-in-law had the swimwear in her possession for about three weeks.

I have thought about it and there are two possible scenarios

1 Mother-in-law is about size 18, has a sister (wife’s aunt) who is a bit bigger size 20 I would guess , this aunt has a hot tub at her home and a daughter who is even bigger than her mum. Is it possible they wore the swimwear in stages to stretch it and perish the elastic by wearing it in the hot tub. My thought though on this is the swimwear apart from one string bikini would have ripped if they tried to get into it.

2 Someone on her suggested that a hot wash could be the cause, would it have been possible to stretch and perish the elastic bits with one or maybe more hot wash cycles in a washing machine and maybe stretching it out on the washing line while it was drying.

Which is the most likely or could it have been either or a bit of both?

I was given an infinity pendant for my 16th b-day on June 16th and last week I forgot I had it on and got in a hot tub and the color doled an can the oil from your skin change the color as well. But the main reason I’m asking this question is to see if there is different ways to polish and bring out the shine of the pendant again.

lost its shine

My niece is 12 years old and she wore her favorite sterling silver ring into the pool and in the hot tub while at the beach and it has now turned into a goldish/tarnished color. We tried using sterling silver jewelry cleaner but it didnt work. Is there anything else we should try or is it ruined?

I’ve seen some swimsuits get discolored from the chlorine and the hot temp from hot tubs/jacuzzi. Ed hardy suits have lots of print and colors, so I was wondering if they’re safe to wear or will they get discolored also???
