kyles974 asked:
First, can anyone tell me if this can or could save enough water/and hot water to justify spending the extra money on building this system vs going with a cpvc system? If yes, how many years would it take to pay for itself?
OK, now for hot water, what size pex should i go with on the following if i ran a home run system?
(Im thinking 3/8 and/or 1/2 for hot)
washer; estimated 25ft from heater
kitchen sink/dish washer: 30ft from heater
tub/shower #1; 25ft from heater
bath sink #1; 25ft from heater
tub/shower #2; 75ft from heater
bath sink #2; 75ft from heater

…and as for cold, I figured 1/2 for all?
(remember, this would be for a home run design, and i will do this design if its going to save hot water/$)(please, i have been racking my brain for 2 days now, educating myself with pex)

And my ring that’s pure silver turned this awful dark grey color and even jewelry cleaner won’t take it off. Has this ever happened to you? How do I fix it?

What can I do about a clogged drain that I can’t use a snake on?
27th September 2009
debodun asked:
My upstairs bathroom tub is draining very slowly. I have tried commercial drain cleaning products, hot water and even a plunger, but nothing helps very much. Unfortunately the drain cover is non-removable, so I can’t get a snake down in the drain. What can I do without having to call an expensive plumber?
There’s a photo of the drain hole here:

Hot Tub heating issue?
25th September 2009
Charles R asked:
we’ve had it for about 5yrs with no trouble. the heating element just died and i replaced it with no problem. the issue now is when it heats up. it gets up to temp, no matter the setting and stops circulating like it should. BUT… the HEATER STAYS ON. it sits idle, NO CIRCULATION until the overheat limiter is tripped, then the heat turns off, but the heater will not engage again unless the power is reset. once reset, the cycle then begins again, heat-up, over-heat, etc. the filters are clean, there’s no evident pressure problem. the make is a “Gulf Coast model #7000/Cape Haze.”
I didn’t disconnect any wiring on the circuit board. I only changed the heat element.
The thermostat clips in seperately. If only there was a relay to replace or circumvent, but that’s not the case. I know my heater works, thermostat works, overheat limiter works. I can’t figure out why the heater won’t shut off when it reaches temp. There is no visible relay to trigger. I shut off main power, disconnected 2 wires to the element, and replaced. Only 2 wires were removed in the entire procedure. ugh.

PROUD FORMULA FEEDER asked:
I have a small 2-3 seater , roughly 700 gallons hot tub that I just put in and filled. All my chemicals tested okay except the chlorine. I am going to fill up the bromine floater and put it in the hot tub but how much do I open it? How long will it take to chlorinate the hot tub so we can go in?
