No air condition = sauna ?

If you don’t have air condition at home in the summer, you sweat a lot, isn’t that the same as sauna? and helps to detoxify the body? (of course not for someone already sick or in old age)

How to keep cool?

I have a seven month old daughter. We live in North Carolina. We just got back from visiting family on the west coast. When we got home at almost midnight last night, we discovered that the central air had stopped working, and my house was almost twenty degrees hotter inside than it actually was outside. I live over half an hour away from the nearest town that would sell air conditioners, and besides that I really can’t afford much of anything right now (family emergencies as of late). My house is basically a sauna, and I need to keep that poor little girl cool until tomorrow when the repair guy comes out. Right now, all I’ve figured out to do is keep her full of liquids and I have been taking Ziploc bags of ice, putting them in flanel pillow cases and having her sleep with those- but she’s still sweating terribly. Any other suggestion?
I just recently moved here, so I have no friends, other than people who live in a barracks, and we can’t stay with them, obviously. I have one ceiling fan in the livingroom. It’s over 90 degrees outside, almost 100 inside with the fan on, doors and windows open. I don’t have neighbors because I literally live in the middle of nowhere on a small piece of land. I’m well on my own here.

I ask out of business curiosity - after visiting a new spa-style hammam today, I got to thinking.

Now, for those of you unfamiliar, although the Turkish and Moroccan styles differ, a hammam is basically a public bath without standing water.

You bring your own soap and implements, pay a nominal fee to go inside, sit and sweat in a sauna-like room, apply traditional soap, scrub or get scrubbed by a professional, then perform your regular shower routine at the end.

There are very traditional hammams and modern spa-style ones which still use the same methods. They are typically single gender. Tourists frequent them here.

SO…the question is…if someone opened one in your neighborhood, perhaps of the more modern variety (very clean, private areas for showering afterward), would you go? How much would you pay?

If it offered a range of spa treatments, would that change your answer?

How do you pamper yourself?

Im 12 and earlier today when i finnished playing tennis with my friend mike we decided to take a bath and go to the sauna in the gym, when we got there we noticed two black men touching themselves frenetically, and looked crazy, almost like having convulsions… me and my friend mike freaked out and asked those men if they were alright, they also freaked out when they saw us, and then they said “yeah”, suddenly we noticed this weird white cream on their hands, and asked them about it, they said it was a cream for skin, so my friend mike asked for some and they put it all over his face, since he has acne problems, i decided i didnt wanted any weird product on my face, it seemed so sticky on his face,

but mike has been feeling a weird rash since we got home and he cant sleep properly, what should he do? did those man hurt him? we cant look for information in internet about that sticky white cream since we saw no bottle or labels, please help what did they put on his face?
Why i wouldnt want to know? mike is feeling weird and im trying to help him, just tell us please

My Husband is a car importer and enjoys going to saunas when he travels to Germany. Says it relaxes him and gives him something to do when he is done for the day or has free time. Everyone is ***** there and I don’t like that he goes. What do you suggest I say or do? I can’t go to Germany with him every time he goes there since this is his job. I have 2 small children to watch at home.

We are building a new home which will have the following rooms
1 Bedroom
Kitchen
Dining Rm/area
Living Room
Master bath
Main/guest bath
Office/den

There will be an unfinished attic that could be used for future expansion
The master bath will have a whirlpool tub and a far infrared sauna. Heat lamp in ceiling for both baths. The area for the sauna could be used for a stack-able washer/dryer in the future instead of the sauna. All outlets will be wired for 20 amp circuits [#12 wire].
It is planned to add a mini split ductless air conditioning at least in the living room/kitchen dining area which is all one open area about 17ft. by 36ft.

How many circuits will we need?

When I returned from my recent break I found Mr. Eyes had turned the old stately pile into an hotel! What a shock.
Gone the hen hoose - that is now a gym for the guests.

There are a couple of chaps (American) in room 4. They are partners in something. And I think very religious. For the best part of last night I heard the young fair haired one shouting out the name of the Lord in quite a fervant manner.

Knowing the couple of retirees arriving in the morning are from what they told me was the bible belt of the states - I thought it might be a good idea to put them in room 5 next door to the young fellers.

They should have a lot in common I feel.

Do you think that would be a good plan?

There are no eggs on the menu for the morning and I see no sign of any of the girls as yet - I’ll have to ensure they are not in the gym using the sauna. There is the aroma of chicken chasseur although not coming from the kitchen!
