Chris S asked:

The secondary pumps for our hot tub just emit big bubbles constantly, instead of working normally. The primary pumps work, but weakly. I’ve tried cleaning the key filters that I could find (including on the floor of the hot tub), filling up both of the filter bucket areas and the O-ring and the main pressurized tank with water until it just overflowed, and nothing seems to have any effect.

Any other tips for what might be causing the secondary pumps to not work at all and just blow bubbles, and for the primary pumps to be so weak (and how to fix it)?

Thanks!

I am planning on buying a hot tub and just wondered if anyone who had one would mind sharing their thoughts. Is it still fun to own after a few years? Do you use yours very often? Are they hard to maintain? Can you use yours in warm weather too? I have been doing a lot of research, any advice on something I may not be thinking of?

I’ve decided to replace the above ground spa in my backyard with a garden. It’s 15 years old, and it works, but we don’t use it often enough to make the maintenance & cost worth it. How do I get rid of my hot tub in a cost-effective manner? Hire someone to take it away? Post it on Craigslist? If you’ve gotten rid of one before, how did you do it?

This hot tub is ancient and broken and I want to move it out of an enclosed porch. It is 7′ X 5′ and about 4′ high. Is made of fiberglass and weighs about 500 lbs. What is the best way to get it out of there cost effectively without renting a crane. chop it up with a chain saw and carry out the pieces?

I am trying to find a 3 person hot tub but everywhere I look I see prices around $4,000. I rented a cabin in upstate PA a few months ago and the owner told me his cost around $1,500. Where can I get one that cheep!

A co-worker of mine claims that if you pour alcohol in a hot tub the alcohol will be absorbed through your pores and get you really drunk. Has anyone ever heard of this or tried it?

He claims that the hot water opens your pores allowing it to be absorbed, and he says it would work with 2 bottles of everclear.

I recently bought a house that came with an outdoor hot tub. I’ve heard there are lots of different chemical treatments, but don’t know what would be best. I wont use it a whole lot, and I don’t really want the chemical vapors to be too overpowering. I’d also like it to be easily maintainable.
